How to Prepare for an Online Counselling Session
You will need a private space to attend your session, using a private and secure internet connection. Avoid attending while out in public or using the wi-fi at a cafe. Give yourself some distraction-free time by turning off your cell phone during your session.
We use a secure video meeting platform called doxy.me. It’s quite simple to use. A link will be provided to you, and when it’s time for your session, just click on the link and you will enter our waiting room. Your therapist will start your session at the scheduled time.
All the details around confidentiality and what to expect during counselling will be covered in our Informed Consent and Intake forms. Your counsellor will review these with you at your first therapy session.
